About myself

I’ve been making films since the turn of the century, mainly focusing on the position of social minorities. I use personal stories to provide what I hope is insight into their situation, and so create opportunities for change.

Before I began making films I worked in the development cooperation sector, first as a researcher and later as a project manager. The work helped me realize just how much my own view of the world was coloured by my background, upbringing and education. This taught me to look at other people’s worlds with a less prejudiced eye. I have made use of the ability to analyse without judging in my work as a film-maker.

While working in development cooperation I often went out taking pictures. Here I am on the shore of Lake Managua in Nicaragua.
