Avercamp

The Rijksmuseum asked ZieZo¬†Foundation to produce a short film on painter Avercamp. This film was to be used for an educational program for deaf children. It’s titled: Open your eyes with Avercamp (2009)

Hendrick Avercamp was born in Amsterdam in 1585 and died in Kampen in 1634. Because he was deaf, he was called The Mute of Kampen. Avercamp became renowned for his winter landscapes which are exhibited all over the world.
In this short film, scenes from the theatre play ‘Frozen Motion’ by het Handtheater in Amsterdam are used. het Handtheater commissioned ZieZo Foundation to transform parts of the play into an interactive website Avercamp.com (2011)
